The ongoing issue of abnormal fees hike in private schools has taken a political turn now as Indian National Congress is set to begin a city-wide campaign ‘Fees Ghatao, Bachpan Bachao’, from Tuesday. Jaipur Congress president, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, visited Dr. Radhakrishnan Shiksha Sankul on Monday, to present a warning letter to Vasudev Devnani, secondary education minister. The letter stated that the government needs to ensure proper implementation of Rajasthan Schools (Regulation of Fee) Act, 2016, at all private schools of the state. Interestingly, however, Khachariyawas ended up pasting the letter on the door of the minister’s office, as he was not present to receive it.Khachariyawas, then, assured the parents that a campaign will begin within 24 hours. Further, on April 18, Congress MLAs of 91 wards of the city will receive parents’ complaints and grievances and request the government to take action on the same, as a part of the campaign.“However, if the issue is still not solved by the government, we will burn effigies of the chief minister and education minister in 16 blocks as the next step. The demonstration will further go big in Civil Lines after that, the date of which is yet to be finalised,” Khachariyawas said. He further stated that several parents have alleged the schools have been blackmailing them to pay the fee.“The kind of exploitation done by the private schools needs to end. We will demonstrate in front of the chief minister and the education minister wherever they will go. The Government of Rajasthan will be solely responsible for any kind of tussle due to this,” Khachariyawas added. Several parents, in addition to other Congress party members, were present at the institution early Monday morning,
