It’s been 11 days since the body of a minor girl – who was tortured and raped – was found dumped in the bushes in a Surat locality, but the police have not been able to identify her, let alone nab the culprits, Mumbai Mirror reported.The Surat incident has added to the nationwide outrage in the wake of the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua, as well as the rape of a woman when she was a minor in Unnao.While the Surat Police have announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for information on the girl or her family, a local developer, Tushar Ghelani, said he’ll pay Rs 5 lakh to anyone providing information regarding the victim.Also readSurat rape-murder: 9-yr-old may have been from West Bengal, OdishaThe police recovered the severely injured body of the girl near from a cricket ground in Bhestan area of Surat on April 6. After five-hour long postmortem, it was revealed that the girl was raped and tortured for at least eight days. She was strangled to death.Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Surat police commissioner Satish Sharma said, “The Surat police have been trying to solve the case, but couldn’t find any clue. We seek the people’s support to solve the case.
