More than 3.83 lakh students are set to appear for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examination on Thursday from Mumbai division. The figure of total students appearing for the exam in Maharashtra is 17.51 lakh. Out of the total, 9.73 lakh and 7.78 lakh are girls. These students are registered for the exam from 21,986 secondary schools and they will appear in 4,657 exam centres across the state.This year the regular students appearing for SSC examination are 16.37 lakh whereas private candidates are 67,563 in number. Class improvement students are numbered at 46,007 this year.From Mumbai division, regular students are 3.54 lakh, 26,692 students are appearing private and 1039 students are isolated and 11 are from class improvement. A total of 2,463 are appearing from the handicapped category this year from Mumbai. Out of these learning disability category has 1223, deaf 513, orthopaedic handicapped 353, blind 89, autistic 37, speech impaired 27 and spastic 25 students. The students from Mumbai will be appearing for their board exam in 994 exam centres.In order to curb the paper leak or malpractice in board examination the state board have made it compulsory for candidates of HSC as well as SSC to be present in exam centre before exam starts. The rule of coming half an hour early at examination centre will be applicable for SSC students as well. The students will have to come to exam centre by 10.30 am for exam.
