The examination for Class X and Class XII conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) beginning on March 3 will have 543 differently-abled students appearing from Ajmer region. Gujarat falls into Ajmer region, of CBSE classification along with Maharashtra and Rajasthan.From this region, 1,81,306 students will take the Class X exam whereas 143229 students will take class XII exam of which 338 and 205 differently abled will take Class X and XII exam. For class X, 59 students are dyslexic, 14 spastic, 5 autistic, 86 blind, 23 deaf and 151 physically handicapped will appear for the exams in 193 centres. Whereas for class XII, 22 dyslexic, 8 spastic, 4 autistic, 28 blind, 12 deaf and 131 physically handicapped students will appear for exams at 152 centres.Students suffering from diabetes will be allowed to carry eatables that include sugar tablets, chocolates, candy, fruits, snacks and small bottle of water. For the same, the students will have to furnish a certificate with medical history to the principal which will then be forwarded to the board.In another major relief to Class X students, the board has announced to grant relaxation in passing marks. All the class X students who will be appearing for board examination will now need to get overall 33 per cent pass marks.The board in its notification said, “this was a “one-time measure” only since the current batch of students had faced a different assessment process last year, when they were in Class 9.”Session on evaluation of answer scripts heldAn interactive session for the evaluation of answer scripts of was held at Delhi Public School, Bopal which was attended by Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, Joint Secretary, CBSE HQ, New Delhi, Piush Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary/RO, Ajmer and Dr Pragya Singh, Deputy Secretary, Academic. Principals, chief nodal supervisors, Centre Superintendents (CS) and Head Examiners of more than 100 CBSE schools of Gujarat were invited to participate in this interactive session.Dr Pragya Singh informed the participants that the examination would be conducted in 4462 centres in India and 78 centres outside India.
