The Supreme Court on Friday once again declined to halt the NEET-UG 2024 counselling process, while also issuing a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA), according to ANI. The court has decided to tag the fresh pleas with pending petitions and has scheduled a hearing for July 8.

This decision comes a day after the apex court put a stay on proceedings in three high courts that were hearing petitions challenging the NEET-UG 2024 exam. These petitions demand an independent investigation into allegations of malpractice, including a question paper leak and the awarding of grace marks.

Meanwhile on Friday, Delhi Congress workers staged a demonstration near the BJP headquarters in the capital, protesting against the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The protest was led by Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, reported PTI.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), commonly known as NEET-UG, was conducted by the NTA on May 5. Approximately 24 lakh candidates participated in the examination, and the results were announced on June 4.

Despite the completion of the exam and the announcement of results, allegations of question paper leaks in states like Bihar and other irregularities surfaced. These claims have sparked protests across several cities and led to multiple legal petitions filed in various high courts and the Supreme Court.
