The journey back to work after a career break can feel overwhelming. We see or know many women around us who take a break from work for several reasons and face challenges. Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs’ We Rise initiative is addressing these barriers head-on, providing a practical and empowering solution for women ready to restart their careers.

We Rise has designed various programs and modules that help them get back into the game. The initiative offers participants training in technology and leadership skills to make them resume work with confidence.

Mentorship is a prominent offering of the program, where each participant is paired with an experienced mentor who provides personalized advice and industry insights that help navigate challenges along the way. Participants are also initiated into a community of supportive peers to share experiences and connect with like-minded professionals.

We Rise is part of a broader vision of Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs in building an inclusive work environment. The Leap Ahead mentoring initiative and the Magenta Women Employee Resource Group, support women to grow, lead, and innovate within the organization.

DTDL also offers several benefits and policies specifically tailored for returning mothers such as extended maternity leaves, adoption assistance, and daycare support benefits to make women feel secure in the workplace.

Kanwardeep Singh Ahluwalia, Managing Director of DT Digital Labs, emphasizes, “The future of technology depends on everyone having a chance to shape it. Studies consistently prove that teams with diverse perspectives create groundbreaking ideas. By providing a space dedicated to women’s innovation, we’re taking a crucial step forward.”

Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs also offers unconscious bias training annually under the umbrella of its Spectrum Shift program to ensure that the workplace remains equitable and welcoming for everyone.

DTDL is a leader in promoting gender diversity within the tech industry. These efforts not only support individual career growth but also contribute to a more equitable and innovative tech landscape.
