<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Pehlu Khan issue was cause of an altercation between social activists and local Hindu groups when members of the Karvaan-E-Mohabbat, a rally being taken out for peace and solidarity, wanted to pay respects to Pehlu Khan at the highway spot where he was attacked by cow vigilants.The group led by Harsh Mandar was on its way to Jaipur from Delhi and halted at Behror at the DCP office and demanded to know the details about the progress of investigations in the case and permission to pay respects to Pehlu Khan.Mandar was denied permission to do so by the local police. The police told him that the act could create tension in the area and expressed inability to guarantee him protection in that situation. Mandar went on to stage a dharna in front of the DCP office, which is on the highway.As the news spread in the small town, local Hindu groups of Behror also gathered and protested against Mandar and his team. Mandar was then safely escorted along the highway to Jaipur by the police.The Pehlu Khan lynching case has been in focus again after CID-CB absolved charges against 6 named accused in the case. The decision had been taken after it was found in investigation that the six were not present at the location at the time of crime.The case was initially being investigated by the local police but was later handed over to CID-CB.On basis of footage of the incident a case was registered against 7 persons, out of which 2 were minors. Eight persons were also named in the police report filed on behalf of Pehlu Khan. Out of those 8 the CID-CB could not find evidence againstWe have enough evidence to give a clean chit to the 6. Nine are accused in the matter and investigation is being conducted, said PK Singh ADG Crime.The social organisations have sent a joint open letter to the chief minister on the issue and demanded justice for Pehlu. Family of Pehlu is also planning to move court against the police report absolving six accused.
