<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>A 50-year-old woman was shot at by armed assailants who opened fire on her and her son outside their residence in North-East Delhi’s Welcome area, following an argument. Police claim that they have arrested one of the suspects but can not disclose his identity as more arrests are likely to be made.According to the police, Saroj Devi resided in the area along with her husband and her two sons, Raju and Bittu. She also has two daughters who are married. Devi allegedly sold ganja (cannabis), charas (hashish) and poppy husk in the area.The incident occurred around midnight, late on Friday night, when some men were loitering outside Devi’s house. Her son Raju who was coming back home from the market spotted the men and questioned them. Initially there were two persons who started arguing with him, later they were joined by more.Police say the accused then opened indiscriminate firing on the woman and her son. Devi’s husband was out of the city when the incident occurred.Police said that over a dozen rounds were fired out of which Devi sustained two bullet injuries, one on her chest and another on her shoulder. She was rushed to the nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.
