With new twist and turns taking place in Karnataka over the formation of government, the Congress party on Thursday alleged that the BJP members came inside the resort and offered money.Despite the BJP having secured 104 of the 222 seats for which polling was held, eight short of a majority, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has exuded confidence that he would win the confidence vote about which he was ‘100% sure’.The Governor has given 15 days time to Chief Minister Yeddyurappa to prove the majority. The Congress and JD(S) — which have already announced a post-poll tie-up — have won 78 and 37 seats, respectively and had staked their claim before Governor Vala.Senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy said that after the police were withdrawn (from outside Eagleton Resort), they (BJP) came inside and offered money.”He also alleged that they have been constantly calling people on phone. In the evening, the security around the resort to prevent alleged attempts at poaching by BJP was withdrawn. Hours after B S Yeddyurappa was sworn in, the government also shifted T Ramesh, superintendent of police of Ramanagara district where the Eagleton Resort is located. Chikkamagaluru district superintendent of police K Annamalai has been appointed as SP of Ramanagara district.Meanwhile, Congress and JD(S) are mulling to shift their MLAs out of Karnataka. “We have not yet decided where to go. Today late night we will decide where we have to go. There were several suggestions, one of them is to hold a protest in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan,” HD Kumaraswamy said.Several top leaders of the Congress, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjun Kharge and Ashok Gehlot sat on dharna in front of the Mahatma’s statue, and were later joined by JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and the combine’s chief ministerial contender H D Kumaraswamy.Congress MLAs, who were lodged at Eagleton Resort under the watch of resourceful party MLA and minister in the Siddaramaiah government D K Shivakumar, were brought to the venue for some time before being herded back. The newly elected JD(S) MLAs are staying at a hotel in the state capital.
