The special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Monday has directed the superintendent of Arthur Road Prison to take NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal to other hospital for his treatment. Bhujbal, who is arrested for his alleged role in the Maharashtra Sadan scam case, is suffering from a pancreatic ailment. The court has asked the jail authorities to shift him to the super speciality department of Seth GS Medical College.Advocate Shalabh Saxena, representing Bhujbal, had approached the court informing that there was no improvement in the NCP leader’s medical condition. “The court had sought for a report from JJ Hospital, where Bhujbal was admitted.” The dean of Sir JJ Hospital had constituted a panel of experts to draft the report.The report states, “On the basis of clinical examination and blood investigations, acute pancreatitis was ruled out(sic). However, the patient needs further evaluation and management by Hepatopancreatobilary (HPB) and Gastroenterology (GI) department and that the two departments are super specialty department which is not available at the JJ Hospital(sic).””In view of weight loss and normal biochemical parameters, further evaluation and management is required at the super specialty center. The reports state that the facility is available at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital,” the report said.
