According to preliminary trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party is retaining its lead in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly election results. Meanwhile, in Sikkim, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is certain to win another term.
According to Election Commission data, the BJP has already won 10 seats unopposed, and it leads in more than 20 seats, including Lumla, Kalaktang, Koloriang, Nacho, Likabali, Basar, Along (West), and Along (East), among others.
The polling for Arunachal Pradesh’s 60 assembly seats took place on April 19, coinciding with the first round of the Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP enjoys a lead in the state, having won 10 of the 60 uncontested seats. Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein have already secured their seats.
In the last assembly elections conducted in 2019, the BJP won 41 seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Polling for 32 Assembly seats in Sikkim was place concurrently on April 19 in the first phase of the just concluded Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 assembly election, the SKM got 17 seats, while the SDF won 15. Exit polls suggest that the SKM will regain control in the state.
