The Mahakumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious festival, is currently underway in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Millions of devotees are gathering to take a holy dip in the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers meet. Among the festival’s most iconic figures are the Babas—Naga Babas, Aghori Sadhus, and revered spiritual leaders. However, it is an IITian Baba who has captured the public’s attention this year.

In a viral interview with CNN News18, the IITian Baba revealed his fascinating journey from science to spirituality. Born in Haryana, Abhay Singh studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay before shifting gears to explore the arts, earning a Master’s in Design.

During the interview, the journalist remarked on Singh’s eloquence, prompting the surprising revelation about his educational background. “If you keep pursuing knowledge, this is where you reach,” Singh said, adding that his spiritual path began with a quest to understand the meaning of life. Even as an engineering student, he delved into philosophy, studying the works of Socrates, Plato, and postmodern thinkers.

When asked about his transformation, Singh described his current state as the “best stage” of life. His journey has resonated with many, with social media users praising him for prioritizing wisdom over material success.

The Mahakumbh, which began on January 13, continues until February 26, offering a platform for profound spiritual encounters like this one.
