The Delhi Police on Monday received a call from Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal who alleged that she was assaulted at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

According to News18, Kejriwal’s former personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar, attacked Maliwal at the chief minister’s official home in Civil Lines.

Two PCR calls were made on May 13 by the former Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chief Maliwal.

Delhi Police reached the chief minister’s residence after receiving the call.

A copy of the police entry shows that the caller said that the chief minister instructed Kumar to hit her.

BJP slams AAP

The Bhartiya Janata Party swiftly reacted to the allegations made by AAP’s Maliwal, calling for strict action against the accused.

The Aam Aadmi Party, however, has not made an official statement on the issue yet.

BJP Delhi Pradesh Vice President Kapil Mishra said, “If this is true then such a big crime has never happened in any CM house in the country before. Why did Kejriwal order Kumar to beat up Maliwal?”

Mishra ensured that if the news is proven true, the BJP will support Maliwal and bring justice to her.

“Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was infact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time,” said BJP’s Amit Malviya.

Who is Bibhav Kumar?

This is not the first time Bibhav Kumar has made headlines. Earlier this year, Kumar was sacked from the post of Kejriwal’s private secretary after the Directorate of Vigilance termed his appointment “illegal.”

Kumar was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in April over the Delhi Excise Policy scam that saw Kejriwal imprisoned in Tihar for 50 days before he was released on bail last week.
