We are heading for a big, big day and preparations are in full gear for the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, scheduled for 22 January.

No stone is being left unturned for the grand event, which will see politicians, influential leaders, celebrities, sportspersons and people from various sectors in attendance.

According to reports, the BJP has announced plans to telecast the ceremony live across the country, down to the booth level. In fact, the ceremony will also be live-streamed at the iconic Times Square in New York City, the United States.

And ahead of the big day, vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) will begin on 16 January.

As we gear up for this big day, we take a look back the Ramayana trail – from India to Sri Lanka – which covers the prominent sacred places associated with the life of Lord Rama.
