India welcomes its foreign guests with much fervour and celebration but two dignitaries from England made a clandestine visit to the country. King Charles and Camilla came to Bengaluru earlier this month for four days to stretch their legs and rejuvenate after their trip to Samoa.
The duo avoided public appearances during this visit and spent four days at a healthcare centre called Soukya, located on the outskirts of the Indian IT city.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, this is not the first time King Charles and Camilla have visited the institution. They have paid a visit to the healthcare centre at least eight times in the last decade.
King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, has reportedly promoted alternative medication and therapies including yoga, homoeopathy and Ayurveda.
The British monarch took over the reins after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. Soon after he found that he was suffering from cancer which was thought would impede his ability to carry out his duties. King Charles recently returned from a trip to New Zealand and Samoa. As per Veranda, he is ready for other overseas visits despite his health condition. The report said that he enjoyed the two trips and that they “lifted his spirits”.
What is Soukya?
Soukya Health and Wellness Centre, based in Bengaluru, is a holistic wellness retreat that provides residential programs focusing on comprehensive rejuvenation. Emphasizing an integrative and holistic approach, the center addresses the entire individual rather than just targeting specific conditions or symptoms.
