Nita Mukesh Ambani, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, on Monday visited Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath Temple to present the wedding invitation of her son, Anant Ambani.

“I have brought the invite to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. Will offer it at the feet of the Lord,” she stated.

Anant Ambani, youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries Limited, will marry Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12. Guests have begun receiving the traditional red and gold ‘Save The Date’ invitations, detailing the three-day festivities.

The main wedding ceremonies will start from July 12 with the Shubh Vivah, featuring a dress code of Indian traditional attire. July 13 will host Shubh Aashirwad with Indian formal wear, followed by Mangal Utsav on July 14 with an Indian chic dress code. All events will take place at the Jio World Centre in BKC, adhering to traditional Vedic Hindu practices.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s engagement occurred in a traditional ‘Roka’ ceremony at Rajasthan’s Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara in 2022.

In preparation for their wedding, the Ambani family supported the construction of 14 new temples within a temple complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat, during pre-wedding celebrations in February.

The festivities, held from March 1 to 3 in Jamnagar, saw Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, and their children — Akash Ambani with wife Shloka Mehta, Isha Ambani with husband Anand Piramal — in attendance. Mukesh Ambani later visited Gujarat’s Dwarkadish Temple with Anant Ambani.

Recently, the Ambani family also participated in the Ram Lalla pran pratishtha at Ayodhya, contributing Rs 2.51 crore to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor, connecting the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the river Ganga ghats in Varanasi, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 13, 2021. As of February 2024, over 14 crore devotees have visited the corridor, enhancing its significance as a spiritual landmark.
