Prime Minister Narendra Modi upheld his tradition of wearing flamboyant and vibrant turbans for special occasions such as Independence Day or Republic Day. Keeping up with the tradition, the Prime Minister on Sunday donned an attractive orange and yellow turban, adding a pop of colour to the mega event.
PM Modi donned a white Kurta Pyjama and paired this with a brown bandhgala jacket with a pocket sqaure. At first, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the National War Memorial to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.
From here, PM Modi made his way to the Kartavya Path to witness the annual Republic Day parade.
Earlier in the day, he took to ‘X’ and greeted the countrymen on the special occasion.
He wrote, “Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India.”
Notably, the Prime Minister’s choice of colourful turbans has featured on various occasions. In 2024 Republic Day celebrations, he donned a Bandhani turban, showcasing India’s culture and diversity.
