A 28-year-old BPO employee named Shubhada Shankar Kodare was killed in a sharp weapon attack by one of her male colleagues in the office parking lot. The incident, which happened on January 7, 2025, at approximately 6:15, depicts the heinous act being committed in front of more than two dozen witnesses, none of whom stopped the attack.
While undergoing medical care at the hospital, the woman who sustained the injuries passed away. The victim has been identified as Shubhada Shankar Kodare, a resident of Katraj, who is 28 years old. The suspected attacker is 30-year-old Krishna Satyanarayan Kanoja, a resident of Shivajinagar.
According to the footage, the culprit was apprehended, thrashed, and then turned over to the police as soon as he hurled the cleaver.
The police claim that the victim had taken out a loan from the defendant.
According to the police, the accused attacked and killed the woman in public after a fight over the money got out of hand.
Police reported that the two had a heated argument at their workplace on Tuesday. Later, around 6:30 pm, Kodare left the office and went to the parking area, where the accused followed her and attacked her.
The woman was taken to a private hospital in Yerawada, but she sadly died due to severe bleeding.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has strongly condemned the killing of the 28-year-old and called for swift action against the suspect.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar wrote to Maharashtra’s Director General of Police, Rashmi Shukla, requesting an immediate and fair investigation.
The Commission has instructed the state police to file charges against the accused and provide an Action Taken Report, along with a copy of the FIR, within 48 hours.
