An email about a bomb at the Dabolim airport in South Goa drove officials into a frenzy on Monday, causing them to enhance security on the grounds, according to a senior official.

Speaking to PTI, airport director SVT Dhanamjaya Rao stated that his office received an email in the morning about a bomb at the airport.

“We’re taking additional care now. While security has been tightened at the airport, flight operations remain unaffected,” Rao stated.

The Goa police got a formal report from airport officials, and the bomb disposal squad was searching the area, according to a police officer.

“We are not leaving any stone untouched. We are following the prescribed protocol,” he stated.

The airport director said they were trying to find out the origin of the email, which was also addressed to other airports in the country.
