After Delhi and Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, at least four schools in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur received bomb threats on Monday, May 13. The threats were received via email.
Soon after the bomb threat mail was received, students and staff members were evacuated. Police team, along with dog and bomb disposal squads, reached the schools and were carrying out search operations.
Bomb threat in Jaipur schools
“Four-five schools have received bomb threats. Police have reached the schools,” Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph was quoted as saying by PTI.
“Threatening emails have been sent to some schools of the city including Maheshwari School (MPS International School). Currently, the bomb disposal squad is carrying out searches in the school,” ANI quoted DCP East Jaipur Kavendra Sagar as saying.
Panic among students & parents
There was panic and fear among students when they were asked by the authorities to immediately leave the school after receiving the bomb threat email.
Parents too were worried after they got to know that the school in which their children are studying had received a bomb threat and they started to call up authorities as well as some even reached the school to bring their wards back.
The Rajasthan police are also working on finding the sender of the bomb threat mail.
On May 1, more than 50 schools in different parts of Delhi, including Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri; Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar; Delhi Public School of Dwark; DAV School; Amity School, Pushp Vihar, Saket and Noida; and Sanskriti School of New Delhi district, were evacuated after bomb threats were received via email.

In less than a week, on May 6 several schools in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat received similar emails threatening to blow up the premises.
