Arun Reddy, the Congress leader who was arrested in the Amit Shah doctored video case, was sent to three-day police custody on Saturday. Reddy, the handler of an X account named ‘Spirit of Congress,’ was arrested late on Friday by the IFSO unit of the Delhi Police.
The viral video shows Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying, “If the BJP government is formed, we will scrap the unconstitutional Muslim reservation. The SC, ST and OBC communities of Telangana deserve this opportunity and they will be awarded the same by ending the Muslim reservation.”
The case of doctored video has triggered a political slugfest among the BJP and Congress, with Shah accusing the grand old party of “stooping to a new low.”

Jharkhand X handle withheld
Earlier this week, the official X account of Congress Jharkhand was withheld after it shared Shah’s doctored video accompanied by a caption that said, “Amit Shah’s election speech went viral in which he said that if the BJP government is formed again, OBC and SC/ST reservation will be abolished.”
The Delhi Police issued a notice to Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur under Section 91 of the CrPC.
The account still stands withheld.
The Telangana CM connection
The Delhi Police had summoned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over Shah’s fake video case.
The Congress leader had been asked to appear before the Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit with his phone on May 1 but he failed to do so as his lawyers denied the charges levelled against the chief minister.
Reddy’s phone was allegedly used to post Shah’s tailored video where he can be heard vowing to scrap all reservations after coming to power for the third time.
Along with Reddy, five other members of the Telangana Congress have been sent notices by the Delhi Police.
