Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, narrowly avoided a close call on Monday when part of the dais that was constructed for one of his election rallies in Bihar gave way.
Gandhi was in Paliganj, a suburb of the state capital, to lend support to Misa Bharti, the daughter of RJD president Lalu Prasad, who is running for the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat.
Part of the temporary platform drooped, and Bharti could be seen guiding Gandhi to his seat while he stumbled.
When worried security guards rushed to Gandhi’s aid, an alert Bharti swiftly grabbed his hand and helped him restore his equilibrium. They then grinned and assured the Congressman that he was okay.
