Exit polls released on Saturday predicted that the Congress party is likely to form the government in Haryana, while in Jammu and Kashmir, neither the BJP nor Congress cappears to have secured a majority.

According to various pollsters, the Congress is projected to win 55-62 seats in Haryana’s 90-seat legislative assembly, surpassing the required majority mark of 46.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress-NC alliance is predicted to win 30-40 seats, potentially falling short of the 46-seat majority required in the 90-seat assembly. This suggests a hung assembly, with neither the BJP nor Congress securing a clear majority.

The Congress is eyeing a regain power after 10 years in Haryana, banking on anti-incumbency against the BJP government and its own relative ascendance since the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. The saffron party, which changed its chief minister from Manohar Lal Khattar to Nayab Singh Saini just months ahead of the assembly polls, is seeking to retain power and relevance.
