The AAP government’s budget has “Ram Rajya” as its theme, according to reports. Atishi, the finance minister for the Delhi government, arrived at the Assembly on Monday to present the budget for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. The Delhi Assembly’s budget session started on February 15 and has been extended until March 8. The Delhi government is likely to focus on key sectors such as education, health, power, and roads, among others in the budget. The government may allocate ?1,000 crore for various initiatives in unauthorized colonies, which accommodate 30% of the city’s population. The 2023 Delhi budget, presented by Kailash Gehlot, was based on the “Clean, beautiful, and modern” Delhi theme. It amounted to ?78,800 crore, with a provision of ?21,000 crore for the city’s infrastructure.

On March 4, the AAP-led Delhi government will unveil its tenth annual budget, which has Ram Rajya as its theme for the fiscal year 2024–25. According to a PTI source, in the state government’s upcoming budget, Delhiites can expect a significant fiscal boost for unauthorised colonies, particularly for road infrastructure improvements.

According to officials, 1,031 unauthorised colonies in the city are already connected to the sewer network, with over 4,000 kilometers of sewer lines installed. The Delhi government plans to improve the road network in these colonies as well as the water supply pipelines and sewer networks.

With Rs 15 cr set aside for this project, the Delhi government announced “Business Blaster Seniors” for university students. According to Atishi, “the meaning of Ram Rajya is light, people in Delhi do not wait for Diwali to get light because the Delhi govt provides 24-hour electricity.”
