Four Shankaracharya rejected Ram Temple invite, says ‘can’t go against our Dharma Shastra’

Four Shankaracharya will not attend the Ram Temple inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, according to Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth in Uttarakhand.

The most prominent Hindu religious gurus have informed reporters in Haridwar that they will not be attending the grand ceremony because it is against Sanatan Dharma, as reported by the Telegraph.

Swami Nishchalanand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Puri Gowardhanpeeth, had declared earlier this week that he would not be attending the event due to its violation of the scriptures.

Because the event deviates from Hindu norms, according to Avimukteshwaranand, the Shankaracharyas will not be attending. They do not harbor any hatred toward anyone, he claimed.

He said it was against the Hindu religion to install Lord Ram idols before the temple was finished being built. He said that there was no reason to rush things.

According to the newspaper, Avimukteshwaranand stated that it was a bad idea to open a temple that wasn’t finished. They might be referred to as anti-Modi, he said.
Avimukteshwaranand said, “We are not anti-Modi but at the same time we also can’t go against our Dharma Shastra.”

According to the temple trust, the first floor and sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple are complete. The temple will be fully constructed within the next two years.
