Just days before polling for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections begins, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto, laying out its vision for the next five years.

Titled ‘Modi ki Guarantee’, the election manifesto envisions an India that will reach new heights under a possible third term of the saffron party. While the document has mention of new schemes and policies, some of the BJP’s promises are a continuation of previously introduced projects.

Here’s a look at how BJP’s 2024 manifesto pledges to further the promises made in the 2019 manifesto:

Zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism

Exemplifying the Surgical Strikes of 2016 and the Air Strikes of 2019, the saffron party, like the previous general election, has promised to continue its zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism to safeguard the security of Indian citizens.

Like 2019, the party will continue securing India’s borders by constructing roads, railways, telecom towers, optical fibre cables and electricity networks as well as accelerate the development of robust infrastructure along the Indo-China, Indo-Pakistan and Indo-Myanmar borders.

The only point of difference will be the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Farmers welfare

After its launch in 2019, the party will expand the scope of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Apart from this, the government under the BJP will further strengthen the PM Fasal Bima Yojana through more technological interventions to ensure speedy and more accurate assessment, faster payouts and quicker grievance resolution.

This year, the party will also ensure that Millet gets global recognition and will also be promoted as a global superfood.

Fragile five to top five economy

India, which has already grabbed a position in the top five economies, will become the third-largest economy in the next four years.

“We have demonstrated low inflation, high growth and fiscal prudence in the past decade. We will continue on this path and stay committed to expanding our economic prowess,” the 2024 manifesto says.
