The Mahakumbh 2025, scheduled from January 13 to February 26 in Prayagraj, will offer a groundbreaking digital experience to people worldwide, featuring an AI-powered chatbot introduced for the first time.

The initiative is part of the Digital Mahakumbh vision, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PTI quoted officials as saying.

According to a PTI report, by simply scanning the QR code, users can receive a personalised Mahakumbh certificate with their photo on it, which can also be saved digitally or printed.

The AI chatbot also provides complete details about every event and major programme of the Mahakumbh, added the report.

Officials, led by Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh, are working diligently to ensure the event is both spiritually enriching and technologically advanced.

This initiative marks the first time the Mahakumbh will embrace digitalisation on such a large scale, offering a unique experience to devotees globally.

Visitors can access the chatbot through the link (https://chatbot.kumbh.up.gov.in) or by scanning the QR code to receive their personalised certificate.

The AI chatbot is being promoted heavily on social media platforms like X, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, boosting its popularity as a trending tool to connect devotees with the Mahakumbh experience.

According to the report, the chatbot can guide users virtually to Mahakumbh Nagar and provide essential information about amenities such as food, lockers, washrooms, and changing rooms.

Designed to assist in 11 languages — Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, and Urdu — the chatbot allows users to ask questions either by speaking or typing, with responses in their preferred language.

Beyond answering queries, the chatbot fosters a personal connection, enhancing the overall experience for all users.

Meanwhile, to ensure the seamless operation of the Kumbh Mela, a state-of-the-art control room has been established at the tent city.

The control room ahs been designed with the creative expertise of Bollywood’s renowned art director and architect Pawan Pandey.

According to a Times of India report, senior mela authorities will strategise and review all aspects of the mega religious event from the state-of-the-art control room, which is well-equipped to monitor every nook and corner of the mela campus.

Apart from the conference room, special media blocks are also being set up within the control room to facilitate real-time dissemination of information to the public, ensuring widespread coverage of the event, added the report.

“To enhance the exquisiteness and elegance of Mahakumbh, teams of renowned artists from across the country are bringing the walls of Sangam City to life with vibrant and creative artwork,” ToI quoted ADM (Kumbh Mela) Vivek Chaturvedi as saying.

He, however, said the state-of-the-art control room will host meetings and conferences to ensure proper arrangements for devotees.

The control room is designed to ensure maximum security and efficiency, he added.

The facility, adorned with artwork inspired by Prayagraj’s iconic temples and religious sites, is designed to house over 100 officials who will oversee activities during the Mahakumbh.

Senior mela officials will use the control room to monitor the event and provide real-time updates to state authorities.

It includes specialised cabins for managing operations such as security, administration, medical services, and water supply monitoring. With its L-shaped layout and state-of-the-art amenities, the control room serves as a high-tech hub for coordinating the world’s largest religious gathering.
