Narendra Modi, who took as the Prime Minister on June 9, called up former of India President Pratibha Patil, ex-PM Manmohan Singh and Deve Gowda to solicit their blessings as he began his third term.

The prime minister spoke with the former leaders soon after he assumed charge on Monday (June 10) morning.

Pratibha Patil was the President, while Manmohan Singh was the prime minister during the UPA government, while HD Devegowda was prime minister during the United Front government which was supported by the Congress.

However, now, Devegowda’s party Janata Dal (Secular) is one of the alliance partners of NDA and his son HD Kumaraswamy has been inducted in the Modi 3.0 cabinet and has been allotted Heavy Industries and Steel Ministry portfolios.

PM Modi took oath along with 71 other ministers, including 30 cabinet rank ministers, on Sunday at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan which was attended by global leaders, celebrities and had around 10,000 guests.
