Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a dip at Sangam in Ganga at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, during Maha Kumbh.

The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna and is the site of Maka Kumbh where nearly 30 crore people have taken the dip so far. Hindu religious belief says that mythical river Saraswati also joins Ganga and Yamuna at Sangam.

Modi took a boat ride with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Triveni Sangam.

In the visuals shared by ANI, Modi is seen holding rudraksha beads and chanting mantraswhile standing in the river and taking dips.

After taking the dip, Modi is expected to perform puja.

Maha Kumbh began on Paush Purnima on January 13 and will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. It is considered to be the largest spiritual and cultural gathering in the world, which has attracted devotees from across the world.
