After the conduction of the NEET-UG re-test, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to hold the NEET-PG examination this month.
According to a report by NDTV, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduate will be held this month after it was cancelled on June 23 in view of the NEET controversy.
The cancellation of NEET-PG caused a furor among lakhs of applicants. The NEET-UG exams have been marred by controversy with students accusing of malpractices including paper leaks.
Meanwhile, the results of the
NEET-UG re-test
have been announced and the topper tally came down to 61 from 67.
As many as 60 per cent of the 813 students who appeared for the re-examination, however, have improved their scores sans grace marks. Most of these students got a score of above 680. None of these students were able to match their scores to what they had achieved with grace marks.
The NEET-UG examination, originally held on May 5 at 4,750 centres, saw approximately 24 lakh candidates. The results, which were initially expected on June 14, were announced on June 4 due to early completion of answer sheet evaluations.
Notably, 67 students scored a perfect 720, an unprecedented number in NTA’s history, with six from a Faridabad centre in Haryana, raising suspicions of irregularities and the role of grace marks.
The NEET-UG exam, conducted by the NTA, is for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions across India.
