Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revealed three of his big plans should he win another term.

In an exclusive interview with Network18’s Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, PM Modi laid out BJP’s plans for the third term and described how this term will be different from the first and the second.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident of winning a third term, with the leadership asserting that the saffron party will win over 400 seats with alliance.

PM Modi’s 3 big plans

With an emphasis on expanding the scope of Pradhan Mantri Ghar Yojana, the third term will likely witness the following developments, according to PM Modi:

“This is why I would like that whoever has a scooter or car should be able to charge it at home through solar energy. This means the transportation cost of Rs 1,000-Rs 2,000 per month for the person should also become zero,” the prime minister said.

How did PM Modi describe the first 2 terms of BJP?

In the first term, PM Modi first wanted to instill people’s confidence in the government as the saffron party witnessed an atmosphere of hatred towards the administration.

While in the second term, the party under PM Modi’s leadership showed some results and assured people that the government can move forward.

“Now, after the expectations have been transformed into confidence, into aspirations, I want to make the country the third economic superpower in my third term. This will be a continuity — after bringing the country from the 11th to the fifth spot in the world,” Modi said.

“During Manmohan Singh’s tenure, we were at 11, we brought it to five after a lot of effort, and now we will put in some more effort and take the country to the third spot. So, we want to maintain continuity in every sector,” he added.

About Muft Bijli Yojana scheme

Earlier this year, PM Modi launched the ‘Muft Bijli Yojana’ in an effort to boost sustainable development and ensure the well-being of people by offering free electricity.

The central government allocated a budget of Rs 75,000 crores for the project that aims to illuminate every household by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.

To familiarise the scheme among Indians, the government will incentivise Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats to promote the installation of rooftop solar systems in their jurisdiction, the prime minister said.
