AAP MP Swati Maliwal’s medical check-up at AIIMS, New Delhi, found she has suffered internal injuries and marks on face after being ‘slapped, hit and kicked’ by Bibhav Kumar, a close aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Maliwal, accompanied by a Delhi Police team, reached for a medical check-up at AIIMS around 11 pm on Thursday and left the hospital around 3:15 am on Friday. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) member Vandana Singh also was there with Maliwal.
An X-ray and CT scan were done. The medical check-up was done at AIIMS Trauma Centre.
The medical-legal certificate, or MLC, mentioned internal injuries and marks on the face of Maliwal.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP, Maliwal, was allegedly physically assaulted by Bibhav Kumar at Kejriwal’s residence in Delhi’s Civil Lines on Monday morning when she visited him after his release on interim bail to campaign for Lok Sabha polls 2024.
On Thursday evening, Maliwal filed a complaint with the Delhi Police accusing Bibhav Kumar of physically assaulting her, hitting her multiple times on “sensitive body parts”.
After recording her statement to the police, Maliwal came to X after a brief hiatus and spoke about the assault. She said: “What happened to me was very bad….I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me.”
According to the FIR registered by the Delhi Police in Maliwal’s ‘assault’ case, she was slapped multiple times, hit in her stomach and kicked by Bibhav Kumar.

As per the complaint, Bibhav Kumar barged into the living room of Kejriwal’s residence where Maliwal was waiting to meet the Delhi CM.
Maliwal also claimed that Kejriwal was present in the house when his aide Bibhav Kumar misbehaved with her.
The statement of Maliwal was recorded by a two-member team led by Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) P S Kushwaha at 1:50 pm on Thursday.
Bibhav Kumar has been booked under sections 354, 506, 509, and 323 of the IPC pertaining to crimes like assault and violence against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and criminal intimidation.
