Many bank servers across the country were reported to have experienced outages on Tuesday, which impacted Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions. Many people took to social media platforms and wrote about the issues they faced during the transactions.

Additionally, Downdetector, a website monitoring service issues, got reports about UPI not working for some banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and others.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said that some banks are having technical problems causing these outages. NPCI said that the outage happened because of “internal technical issues” at some banks.

NPCI said on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Regret inconvenience on UPI connectivity as few of the banks are having some internal technical issues. NPCI systems are working fine and we are working with these banks to ensure quick resolution.”
