Prime Minister Narendra Modi has outlined a six-step plan for the first 100 days of his term as the PM of India.

Exuding confidence of victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Modi in an interview with ANI said that he did not wait for the elections to get over but made a plan for the post-election governance before the polls itself. He further said that he has also been working on a 25-year long-term plan for the nation that he would consult with the states after the conclusion of the elections.

Modi’s remarks come just days before the first round of voting in the seven-phase parliamentary elections on April 19. The final round of voting will be held on June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4 and the results are expected the same day.

Reiterating his previous assertions to make India a developed nation by 2047, Modi said that he is working with that milestone in his mind.

“For the pat two years, I had been working keeping in mind 2047. For that, I asked opinions from people across the country,” said Modi.

Of the six-step plan, the public consultation in the form of opinions invited from the masses was the first step, said Modi.

Step 1: Got 15-20 lakh opinions from public, universities, NGOs

In the interview, Modi said that he invited opinions from the public, universities, and non-governmental organisations and received huge response.

“Around 15-20 lakh responses were received with suggestions for how they want to see India in 25 years,” said Modi.

Step 2: Used AI to categorise subjects

Modi said that he used artificial intelligence (AI) to categorise the various subjects covered by the public consultation exercise.

“There was a wholehearted use of technology in the exercise,” said Modi.

Step 3: Assigned work to officials

To chalk out the fine print of the vision that he has for the country and suggestions received so far, Modi said he has already formed teams in every department of the government.

“I sat with them for two or two and half hour sessions to discussion what’s doable and what’s not doable and what’s compatible with my vision,” said Modi.

While he mentioned that he sat with the officials to chalk out details, Modi refused to give the specifics citing the Model Code of Conduct in place.

“You will come to know of the plans. This plan is not Modi’s father’s property. This is the plan of 15-20 lakh people of India,” said Modi.

Step 4: Plans will be sent to states

Once the document is ready, it will be sent to the states, said Modi.

“As soon as the elections are over, the document will be sent to the states. I would want states to work on it,” said Modi.

When asked whether it would be sent to the states ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi said it would be sent to all the states and it is about the nations and not the BJP.

Step 5: Meeting of NITI Ayog

Once the document has been sent to the states, a meeting of the NITI Ayog will be called to hold discussions it, said Modi.

“There will be comprehensive discussions with the chief ministers in the meeting on the document,” said Modi.

Step 6: The final outcome

After these steps, it will be time for the final outcome that will be in three parts, said Modi.

Modi said that the final outcome will comprise elements from the BJP’s manifesto, his 25-year vision for 2047, and the agenda for the first 100 days of the third term of his government.

Highlighting that this is not the first time he has taken such an approach, Modi said that he had taken such 100-day approach in 2019 as well.

“When I returned as the Prime Minister, in the first 100 days, I revoked Article 370, I got my sisters liberated from ’triple talak’, I brought the UAPA bill for security, did the merger of banks, and carried out animal vaccination programme,” said Modi.
