Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed resentment on the RG Kar rape and murder case, saying, “It’s a matter of great shame… we are answerable to our conscience… we need to correct our course.” He emphasised the need for introspection and corrective action.
Regarding the reservation of seats for women in the Lok Sabha, Vice-President Dhankhar stated, “With more women in Parliament, they will play a significant role in policy-making, decision-making, and governance.” He highlighted the importance of increased female representation in legislative bodies.
Dhankhar further said “Democracy is designed to protect and empower the vulnerable, the challenged, and those who require support.” He reminisced about a time when men and women enjoyed equal status, saying, “We have lost our way, but we are now working to reclaim that lost equality and restore our past glory.”
