Celebrations erupted among the Aam Aadmi Party’s inner circles as their leader Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail. He will soon walk out of the Tihar Jail and is likely to resume his duties as the Delhi chief minister.

The AAP leader is an accused in the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy case. While Kejriwal’s bail will let him come out of jail, the court has set some conditions for his freedom including cooperating with the investigation and appearing in front of the court whenever required.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate’s plea to the Rouse Avenue Court to stay Kejriwal’s bail for 48 hours has also been rejected, making his release more certain.

From November 2021 to June 2024 Kejriwal has had a long battle with the law. Here’s a timeline of events that transpired to his imprisonment and eventually his bail.
