Apple has launched the iPad Air (2024) in India and global markets during its ‘Let Loose’ event. This sixth-generation model introduces a significant departure from the iPad Air lineup, offering both 11-inch and 13-inch display variants for the first time.

Despite earlier rumours suggesting a Mini-LED screen for the larger variant, Apple surprised by outfitting both models with Liquid Retina (LCD) screens.

Apple iPad Air: SpecificationsUnder the hood, the iPad Air (2024) boasts Apple’s powerful M2 chip, an octa-core processor featuring the Neural Engine for on-device AI tasks. Apple claims substantial performance improvements over its predecessor, with up to 15 per cent better CPU performance and a 25 per cent boost in GPU performance. Notably, Apple asserts that the M2 chip renders the new iPad Air 50 per cent faster than the previous model’s M1 chip. Operating on iPadOS 17 straight out of the box, the device promises a seamless user experience.

The 11-inch variant of the iPad Air (2024) maintains the same 2360×1640 pixels resolution as its predecessor, while the new 13-inch option offers a slightly higher resolution. This expansion of display options aims to cater to a wider range of user preferences and needs.

With the introduction of these new features and improvements, the iPad Air (2024) is poised to continue the legacy of innovation and performance associated with the iPad lineup.

The iPad Air (2024) comes equipped with impressive camera capabilities to enhance your multimedia experience. On the front, you’ll find a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, ideal for capturing selfies and engaging in video calls. Notably, this camera is now landscape-oriented, making it perfect for landscape video calls. Supported apps, such as FaceTime, leverage Apple’s Center Stage technology, which dynamically adjusts the camera angle to keep you centred as you move.

On the rear, the iPad Air (2024) features a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with image stabilization and Smart HDR support. This camera enables you to capture high-quality photos and videos, including 4K resolution footage at up to 60fps. Additionally, you can create stunning slow-motion videos at up to 1080p resolution and up to 240fps.

In terms of connectivity, the new iPad Air model offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, ensuring you stay connected wherever you go. Cellular models take connectivity a step further by enabling access to lightning-fast 5G networks.

Charging and data transfers are facilitated through the USB Type-C port, capable of delivering power at 20W.
