Indian Navy responds to distress call from damaged Iranian fishing vessel, provides medical help to crew

The ship had six Iranian crew on board and was operating East of Duqm. FV Ameen sustained damages after it allegedly collided with a merchant vessel. The Navy said that the collision resulted in a hull breach leading to water ingress

Indian Navy extends helping handResponding to a distress call from the vessel, the Navy deployed a mission in the North Arabian Sea for maritime security operations.The mission provided damage control assistance and strengthened the hull making it safe for further transit.Apart from this medical aid was also provided to three injured crew members.‘We will never forget the help’A member of the crew onboard said, “We heard a big noise and were worried for our safety.
