In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Santosh Kumar from the JD(U) triumphed in the Purnia constituency, garnering 632,924 votes. His closest rival, Uday Singh, also known as Pappu Singh, representing the INC, secured 369,463 votes. Santosh Kumar clinched victory with an impressive margin of 263,461 votes.
