Politicians across the spectrum reacted to the Supreme Court granting interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor scam case on Friday. While some hailed it as a rightful victory, others viewed it as a temporary measure.

“Thanks to the Supreme Court… now we will fight the battle to save democracy with more intensity,” said Punjab chief minister and AAP leader Bhagwant Mann.

NCP president Sharad Pawar also welcomed the SC decision to grant interim bail to Kejriwal. This is what he tweeted.

“I welcome the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,” said Congress leaderKanhaiya Kumar.

This is Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on the interim bail to Kejriwal.

“The bail of Delhi’s popular Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji is another victory of truth,” he said.

“The eyes of every citizen of the country are moist with happiness, their brother, their son Arvind Kejriwal is about to come out of jail,” tweeted AAP leader Raghav Chadha.

“Arvind Kejriwal ji getting justice and relief against dictatorial regime in the country is a huge sign of winds of change,” said Aaditya Thackeray of the Uddhav Thackeray faction.

“I am very happy to see that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail,” said West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on the interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal.

On interim bail to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, AICC in-charge of Delhi and Haryana Deepak Babaria says, “The court decision is right. BJP had attempted to block him from campaigning for elections.”

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had this to say on interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal in excise policy case. “It is clear from the Supreme Court judgement that he has been granted bail for elections only. He will have to go back to jail after June 1…”

Reacting to the interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal till 1 June, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nipuram said, “Instead of jail or bail, first he should be removed from the CM post. How can an accused run the government from jail?”
