Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday broke silence on the circulation of his doctored video where he can be heard vowing to scrap all reservations.

“Congress’ frustration reached such a level that they have spread fake videos of me and several other BJP leaders,” Shah said as he addressed a press conference in Assam.

The Home Minister added that a number of chief ministers, state presidents and others from the grand old party were involved in making the video viral.

“Ever since Rahul Gandhi took charge of the Congress, he has been working to take the level of politics to a new low…I believe that the attempt to get public support by circulating fake videos is condemnable and should never be done by any major party in Indian politics,” Shah said.

The Delhi Police on Sunday registered an
FIR
over the circulation of the fake video. Sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171G of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 66C of the Information Technology (IT) Act have been invoked and a probe has been launched over the case.

Andhra CM Revanth Reddy summoned

The Delhi Police on Monday summoned Telangana Chief Minister
Revanth Reddy
over Shah’s doctored video case.

The Congress leader has been asked to appear before the Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit with his phone on May 1. Reddy’s phone was allegedly used to post Shah’s tailored video.

Reddy hits back

Meanwhile, the Andhra chief minister, after a summon was issued against him, said, “After ED, CBI and Income Tax Department, Narendra Modi is using the Delhi Police to win elections. No one is going to get scared here. We have people who will respond to such tactics. We will defeat Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha elections, especially in Telangana and Karnataka.”
