Delhi Minister Atishi on Friday said that the Delhi government officers have stopped attending meetings which shows that there is a conspiracy to topple the Arvind Kejriwal government and to implement the President’s rule in the national capital.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Atishi said, “The officers of Delhi govt have stopped attending the meeting… All these things show that there is a conspiracy to topple the government of Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi and to implement the President’s rule….”

She said that if such a situation arises, it will be illegal, unconstitutional and against the mandate of the people of Delhi.

“Let me warn the BJP that imposing President’s rule in Delhi will be illegal, unconstitutional and against the mandate of the people of Delhi. The people of Delhi have given a clear mandate to Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party,” she added.

The minister also claimed that in the last few months, no senior IAS officer has been posted in Delhi.

“Posts are lying vacant in departments but no postings have taken place. Bureaucrats have stopped attending meetings called by ministers, citing the Model Code of Conduct. The lieutenant governor has been writing letters to the MHA over the functioning of the Delhi government,” she charged.

Later, speaking to ANI news agency, Atishi said that Kejriwal has been arrested in a fake case and that too without any proof as there is a conspiracy to topple the elected government of Delhi

“When we see a few things from the past, it shows that there has been a well-thought conspiracy going on…,” she added.

She also said that Kejriwal’s private secretary was also sacked as part of the “conspiracy”.

The BJP, however, denied all allegations and said that AAP has been “cooking up new stories daily”.

The sharp attack came days after the Delhi High Court quashed a petition by Kejriwal challenging his arrest on 21 March. Kejriwal’s home was raided and he was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate hours after the court refused him protection from arrest.

The Chief Minister was arrested by ED late last month in a corruption case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy.

The ED’s case is that the Delhi liquor policy 2021-22 provided an exceptionally high-profit margin of 12 per cent for wholesalers and nearly 185 per cent for retailers. A key focus of the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy case was on an alleged network of middlemen, businessmen and politicians which the central agencies have called the “South Group”.
